Storytelling

Creaky Knee can offer fun interactive storytelling sessions for all ages. Whether you want funny poems or a more tangled web of words and dynamic action stories,  Andy will be just the ticket. He works with a vast and ever growing repertoire of exciting traditional stories and poems from many different sources. Andy's performance style is fun and highly energetic, stories and poems are brought to life and audiences are encouraged to take a marvellous journey through their imaginations. He is happy to tell stories at most venues and for all ages.

Workshops

Creaky Knee can provide a range of wonderful workshops for all educational settings across all age ranges and abilities. Andy's workshops create immersive learning experiences that inspire children and teachers to create and perform their own stories. From one off sessions to more focused project work Andy will work with you to design bespoke practical sessions which will include all participants. Workshops in basic storytelling which will include areas such as the creation of character, pace of a story, movement and gesture and finding creative ideas. These workshops are suitable for adults and children and can be used in educational and workbased settings.  Andy can work with classes on full and half day workshops which will encourage everyone to establish and tell their own stories.

As well as storytelling workshops Andy delivers creative writing and drama workshops. These can be long term projects or full or half day workshops.  Andy has had much success in introducing drama and Shakespeare clubs as after provision to Primary and secondary school children and has worked with Telford Libraries on an intensive creative writing club aimed at young people. As well as the drama and creative writing, young people are given skills in public speaking, self esteem and teamwork.

Andy has also worked with several schools on family learning initiatives. Encouraging parents and their children to read write and tell stories together. This extended school work has been very productive in building links with local libraries and other family services and is available as an after school provision.

 

Corporate

Workshops are also available for businesses, incorporating storytelling to increase confidence, teamwork, the use of creativity, and delivering presentations.

Storytelling is all about the art of communication and more and more businesses are seeing the importance of this type of workshop to increase productivity. Andy will work with you to design a bespoke session, which will look at the needs of your organisation and how a days workshop will fulfil those objectives.
